Examples of Controlled Substances
There are numerous controlled substances. The list below is not extensive. For a complete list please visit the DEA website.

ADHD medications — like Allderall (amphetamine salt combo) and Vyvnase (lisdexamfetamine)

Anti-anxiety medications — like alprazolam (Xanax) and clonazepam (Klonopin)

Cannabis and marijuana products

Nerve pain medications — like pregabalin (Lyrica) and Neurontin (gabapentin)

Opioid pain medications — like Norco (hydrocodone/acetaminophen) and tramadol (Ultram)

Sleep medications — like zolpidem (Ambien)

In addition, there are noncontrolled substances such as gabapentin, muscle relaxers such as cyclobenzaprine, and Sudafed that are considered “medications that may have potential for abuse”
Are There Additional Medications That Won’t Be Prescribed?

The healthcare provider is able to prescribe most medications outside of those listed above. However, please note, the healthcare provider will utilize their judgement when refilling any medications. Ultimately, we are wanting to provide safe and effective care, which may result in some medication refills being declined by the healthcare provider.
